Maui Day 7

Our 7th day in Maui was our last day on the island. We spent it lounging by the pool because if you ask me that's my idea of the perfect vacation!
The guys channelled their inner Tom Selleck complete with a thick mustache and raw masculinity... all they needed was a red Ferrari.
Everyone then headed back to the room to get dressed and ready for dinner. We walked to the restaurant on the resort and Gigi stopped to check out the fish pond.
We had such an amazing trip. A huge thanks to Bill and Georgia for all their generosity and for making it all happen. We made so many great memories together.

Maui Day 6

Our 6th day was another pool day for me, Adam's mom and the little ones since everyone else was going to snorkel at Makulei'a Bay aka 'Slaughter House'. We had lunch poolside from Duke's (the restaurant on the property) and also sipped some virgin pina coladas. I couldn't get any pics of Gigi looking at me, she was too busy having fun with all the pool toys!
We then went back to our room to get dressed and ready for the luau that night. We went to the Royal Lahaina Resort Luau and had kalua pig, watched hula dancing and the Samoan fire-knife dance.
We ended our day with another beautiful sunset.

Maui Day 5

Our 5th day in Maui we went whale watching with the Pacific Whale Foundation. We left from Lahaina and took a 2 hour boat ride and saw lots and lots of whales. The whales travel over 3000 miles from Alaska to give birth and mate in the warm waters of Hawaii.
We then headed back to our hotel for some more swimming in the pool and playing at the beach. We made dinner and had a fun and relaxing night, and. watched the beautiful sunset from our room.

Maui Day 4

Our 4th day in Maui started super early for some (2:30 AM) since they were going to see the sunrise from Mt. Haleakala and then bike 23 miles down the mountain. I stayed behind with Gigi, Adam's mom, and my niece and nephew since they were too little (and I've biked it before). We had a great time lounging and playing by the pool with the little ones. Adam only got a few pics with his iPhone.

Maui Day 3

Our 3rd day on the island we drove north from Kaanapali and explored the northwest side of the island. We stopped along the way to see some beautiful views of the ocean.
Gigi had fun running around and exploring.
We then drove up further and stopped to see the blowhole.
We continued to go north and drove through lots of little towns and winding roads. It reminded me of the road to Hana. We finally arrived at Kahului where we took turns going on a helicopter ride. After some schmoozing from Adam's dad we got upgraded to a longer helicopter tour. Our helicopter tour was of west Maui and Molokai and it was beautiful!

After the tour we drove into the town of Paia where we had an amazing lunch at the Paia Fish Market. If you're ever in Maui I would highly recommend going here, the food was delicious! I had the fish tacos which were really tasty! My brother-in-law Mark shared some of his fish and chips and they were delicious!
After a long day we then drove back to our hotel to relax and unwind.

Maui Day 1 & 2

Last month we took a dream trip to Hawaii with Adam's family. We stayed at a beautiful resort on the island of Maui and had an amazing time together. I took over 900 pics so these next few posts might be picture heavy!

Adam and I were a little nervous to fly with Gigi for 6 hours but she did amazingly well on the plane (our iPad was a big help!). We arrived in the evening so we took a stroll around the resort and then had a yummy dinner at Kimo's in Old Lahaina. The next day was spent at the pool getting some sun. Gigi loved being in the water.

Day 2 was spent at the beach snorkeling, playing in the sand and ocean, and getting some more sun!
Gigi did NOT like the sand at all.
So she spent the whole time on a beach towel playing with some sticks in the sand.
And Adam did a little boogie boarding.
