Park Day

Since we live a couple of blocks away from a park, Gigi and I spend a lot of our days there. Gigi is always asking me to go so this time I brought along the camera.

Gigi's fave, the swings - she could swing for hours if I let her!
teeter totter, she loves going up and down
 my little climber
 another fave, the tire swing
picking flowers
do they smell good? :)

Raspberry Picking

Last weekend we went to Sauvie Island and picked our own raspberries. It was a fun little outing and we had perfect weather. We got some yummy berries and I was finally able to make my very own homemade jam.

picking berries with dad and mom
we told Gigi to only pick the red ones
and I think she ate all of the berries she picked! :)
Adam with our spoils
Gigi loved being able to run around and explore
And the farm had some chickens and a pig for Gigi to see
are they having a stare down!?!
I only got about 4 jars of jam so I think we might have to go back and pick some more berries!

More Zoo Fun

Gigi and I have spent a lot of days at the zoo since I bought a year pass. She loves animals so it's proved to be a great investment for us. Her favorites are watching the penguins swim by and petting the goats.

Helping Mama

Gigi loves to help me bake. Whether it's cookies, cupcakes or rolls she always wants to sit on the kitchen counter and help. And her version of helping is sampling the goods! She is a cute little helper!

4th of July

This year was our first year celebrating the 4th of July here in Portland (last year we went to Utah). We woke up early and went to our ward pancake breakfast. Afterwards I took some pics of Gigi, but as you can see she doesn't like to look at the camera! And thanks to Grandma Jim for her cute outfit.

We then went to Target to buy a grill since Adam has been wanting one since we moved here. I guess we shouldn't have left our old grill in LA. We invited some friends over and had hamburgers and homemade corn dogs, it was delicious!

We lit off fireworks pretty early so Gigi could go to sleep at a decent time. I think Gigi's favorite ones were the pop-its, she just loved stomping on them!

I tried to do a sparkler with her but as you can see she wasn't too sure about it!

A few hours after we put Gigi to sleep the fireworks here really got going. I couldn't believe how many were lighting off around us, and I'm not talking about the city fireworks. We sat on our balcony and watched several firework shows. I woke up Gigi so she could see them and she loved it (as long as they weren't too loud!). It was a fun and memorable first 4th in Portland.
