Buddy Talk

A few days after Thanksgiving Gigi said her first word. It wasn't Mama or Dada...it was BUDDY!!! She just loves that little dog! She now points to everything and says Buddy. Since then, she has also learned how to say Dada. When I prompt her to say Mama she just shakes her head back & forth!

Thanksgiving

We decided to go out for Thanksgiving since we had just moved here. We got all dressed up and went to Urban Farmer Restaurant. It's a cute little local place that was serving a 3 course menu and the food was great! Plus, a bonus for me was no dishes! ;) 

Road Trip to Portland

For our drive to Portland we decided to make road trip out of it. We stopped by San Luis Obispo, drove up the PCH to Big Sur, and spent a day in San Francisco.

First stop was Bubble Gum Alley in San Luis Obispo, where Buddy tried to eat the old bubble gum. Adam and I both had to add a piece of gum, I had to be careful to only touch my gum when sticking it on the wall!

Next stop was San Francisco. We took the boat to Alcatraz and went on the prison tour which was surprisingly very good and interesting. 

Then we visited Ghirardelli square and got our free square of chocolate! We saw a store named 'Gigi + Rose' so of course we had to check it out.

We also went on a ride on the trolley to chinatown and had a really good lunch. And of course we had to drive down Lombard street. And on our way out of town we drove over the Golden Gate Bridge.

The only run-in was outside of Shasta Lake, CA. We were stopped on the road for 4 1/2 hours! Ugh, it was painful and we still aren't sure why we were stopped for that long. After all that we finally made it to Portland and are still settling in and trying to get used to the wet weather!

Nine Months Old (Gigi's Monthly Photo)

Gigi turned nine months old on November 19th. Here are her monthly stats:

Height: 26 1/2 inches; 10th percentile

Weight: 15 lbs; 5th percentile

Head: 43 1/4 cm; 20th percentile

Gigi loves music and whenever she hears it she bounces up and down and shakes her head back and forth. She is quite a little dancer! She has also started to feed herself which makes it much easier on me come mealtime. Gigi also loves shoes. Whenever she sees them laying around she makes a beeline for them. Uh oh, is this a sign of things to come?!

New Zip Code

We are moving! Adam got a new job at Weiden+Kennedy in Portland, OR working on Target. We are so excited to move back to the Pacific Northwest... and we hear they get more sunshine than Seattle! So we'll be driving up there and making a little road trip out of it by stopping in San Francisco and maybe a few other places along the way. We can't wait!

Pumpkin Patch

A few weekends ago we took Gigi on her first visit to the pumpkin patch. We went to one an hour outside of LA and it was so fun! They had all sorts of animals, wagon rides and tractor pulls, yummy food and of course a huge pumpkin patch!
