Two Best Friends

The other day I was doing the dishes and I couldn't hear Gigi playing (which usually means she is getting into something and making a mess). I found her in the living room in Buddy's bed! She was trying to play with him and give him loves. She just loves her little Buddy! In fact, as soon as she wakes up every morning the first thing she says is "Buddy!"

Year 1 Photo Shoot

I did a separate photo shoot to commemorate Gigi turning 1 year old. I still can't believe how fast her first year went! She is all too quickly growing out of the baby phase and into the toddler phase.

Twelve Months Old (Gigi's Monthly Photo)

Gigi turned twelve months old on February 19th. Here are her monthly stats:
Height: 29 inches; 46th percentile
Weight: 16 lbs 8 oz; 1st percentile

I can't believe my little Gigi is now a 1 year old! She is now standing up all by herself, I guess that means walking isn't too far away! New words she learned this month are bah-bah (for her bottle) and baby; she now points to everything and says 'baby.' She loves music and every time she goes into her room to play she turns on her Baby Einstein CD and starts to dance. She also loves books and is always bringing them to me so I can read them to her.

Gigi Turns One

I can't believe our little Gigi is now a 1 year old! On February 19th we celebrated Gigi's 1st Birthday with presents, balloons and streamers, and lots of cupcakes! Gigi was really excited about her new toys.

We sang 'Happy Birthday' to our birthday girl with a votive on top of her cupcake. I bought her a candle and set it aside for later. Well when it came time to use it I searched high and low and couldn't find it anywhere. So I had to make do with what we had (and I still don't know what happened to that candle)! Gigi especially loved eating the frosting!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Adam and I are celebrating by going out for sushi tonight. And I wanted to share some of my Valentine decorations. I made some heart strings out of scrap paper and an old book. I had some little glass hearts and glittery stars that I put in mason jars I had lying around the house. I thought it turned out to be a cute and festive centerpiece.

Back to Klickitat Street

Gigi in her new hat from her aunt Anne, she looks too cute! The hat was ripped off right after I snapped this pic though, Gigi doesn't let me put anything on her head anymore.
A few weeks ago we went for a walk to explore our neighborhood and the park that is a few blocks away from our place. We found out that it has a little play gym which will be nice this summer for Gigi and me!
We happened upon Klickitat Street, which we both recognized from the Beverly Cleary novels; it was the street where Ramona and Beatrice lived. And Beverly Cleary grew up not too far from where our apartment is, I'm going to have to do some investigating so I can find out exactly where her house is. And I think a visit to Grant Park is on order so we can see the Beverly Cleary Sculpture Garden. I just loved those books as a kid!

Adam's 30th Birthday

Adam turned the big 3-0 on February 2nd and we celebrated with his favorite cake, German Chocolate. Of course Gigi loved it (note there are only crumbs on her tray)! Adam, I hope you had a wonderful day and we are so lucky to have you in our lives. We love you!
