I've had Gigi's room done for months now and I'm finally getting around to posting the pics for you. I decorated her nursery with pink and tiffany blue so I wanted to do something a little different to transition her to a big girl room. Gigi loves pink, so we kept pink in her room and added in grey and gold. Paint color is Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore (btw, I'm in love with this color).
The gold polka dots are made out of
contact paper that I cut into circles using this
circle cutter. This is a great alternative to wallpaper since it's not permanent (I know since I had to re-position a few of them). I decided to cover about 1 1/2 walls so the room wouldn't be overwhelmed with polka dots.
Husband made the bed out of 3 pallets screwed together and then we added wheels to the bottom. The pallets make the perfect size toddler bed! I did a little pattern mixing with her
duvet cover and
sheet set. The
pink sham adds in a little texture and the tweed and gold pillow is from Target.
I made the polka dot art above her bed by cutting out circles from silver and gold scrapbook paper. I love how it mimics the larger polka dots on the wall. And the letters to spell her name were found at various thrift stores. I mod-podged the large "G" and spray painted the others white to match her room.
And a view to the other side of the room. The
dachshund night light is the same one we used in her nursery and I just love it!
The butterfly print is from IKEA and so is the
shelving unit underneath it. The
polka dot toy bins just add to the polka dot theme I kinda have going on in the room. :) The
flower light is from IKEA and the
rug is the same one we used in her nursery.
The shelving unit holds whatever toy Gigi is into playing with at the moment. Right now it's her princess doll house that I thrifted when we lived in Portland.
And a view to the other side of the room. I made the roman shades by following
this tutorial. They were a little harder to make than
Liam's curtains but I'm happy with how they turned out. And they are blackout shades which come in handy during the summer.
Her little handprint and footprint that we did when she was a baby.
I also thrifted her desk, which holds art supplies and coloring books. This girl just loves to paint!
And a close-up of the gallery wall. I thrifted the butterflies which I then spray painted gold of course!
The
shelves are from IKEA and most of the stuff on them I found at various vintage stores. I painted the gold heart and framed some vintage skeleton keys.
Husband and I made the little framed heart using our thumbprints (which we also did in
Liam's nursery).
I got the chalkboard print
here and the gold rhino is from Target.
So that's it! I hope you enjoyed the tour ;)
Thanks for letting me share Gigi's room with you!
